With the rise of food culture and the increasing number of food establishments, culinary education has become more accessible than ever. Among the institutions that offer culinary education in the Philippines is the Culinary Institute of Cagayan de Oro (CIC).

Graduating from CIC offers several benefits that can help aspiring culinary professionals excel in their career. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the advantages of graduating from CIC.

Comprehensive Culinary Education

One of the biggest benefits of graduating from CIC is the comprehensive culinary education it provides. The institute offers Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Barista Education that cater to different levels of expertise, from beginner to advanced levels.

CIC’s curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of culinary arts, including cooking techniques, food science, and nutrition. Graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to create and prepare different dishes, manage a kitchen, and even run their own restaurant or catering business. Attention is likewise given to holding discipline and proper attitude.

Hands-on Training

CIC emphasizes hands-on training, providing students with the opportunity to apply what they learn in a real-world setting. Students undergo extensive practical training, which are equipped with industry-standard equipment and appliances.

The institute also offers internships and apprenticeships to help students gain experience in actual restaurant settings. Through these opportunities, students can develop their skills, gain confidence, and build their professional network.

Industry-Recognized Certification

Graduating from CIC offers the advantage of industry-recognized certification. The institute is accredited by Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). This means that CIC’s programs meet international and local standards, ensuring that graduates have the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the culinary industry.

CIC graduates also have the opportunity to obtain national certifications from the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) namely; Commercial Cooking NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, and Barista NC II. These certifications can enhance graduates’ resumes and demonstrate their expertise to potential employers.

Career Opportunities

CIC graduates are highly sought after in the culinary industry, both locally and abroad. The institute has partnerships with various hotels, restaurants, and catering companies, providing students with job opportunities upon graduation.

Additionally, CIC’s Culinary Arts curriculum includes restaurant management operation and staffing, recipe menu planning, budgeting, costing, equipping graduates with the skills to start their own food business. This opens up opportunities for graduates to become their own boss and run a successful food establishment.
